Our quality assurance department

The quality assurance department at Domenico Paone S.p.A. is home to five members of staff, plus one external biologist. The department is responsible for quality control processes for the raw ingredients. This work is performed at the company’s in-house laboratory using state-of-the-art equipment in order to guarantee that the semolina we use meets the requirements and specifications set out for each product. The department’s work also involves inspecting the production process itself and, subsequently, the quality of the semi-finished and finished products. The packaged product is checked as part of a final inspection. Within the department, one member of staff is responsible for upholding hygiene standards and for pest control, according to the regulations set out in mandatory and voluntary standards. The quality and safety of our food products are also guaranteed by our ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2018 certifications.

We focus on food safety

ISO 22000 is a voluntary standard which is essential for food safety management systems. It is used to pinpoint specific potential risks and to manage these effectively. Risk management gives us a competitive advantage and is an essential part of our duty to our customers.

Domenico Paone S.p.A. has adopted the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practice (GHP) schemes, along with the principles of Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP).

ISO 9001:2015 is an internationally renowned standard used by businesses to create, implement and manage a Quality Management System. It is designed to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous improvement, which are both primary objectives at Domenico Paone.

The term “kosher” refers to the set of dietary rules observed by practising Jews. The Hebrew word “kosher” or “kasher” means “fit” or “proper”.

In Islamic law, the term “ḥalal” refers to everything which is permissible and lawful, both in terms of a person’s diet and food prepared according to the rules of Islamic law.
